Notes & Pairings
This is a nod to Frano’s Grandfather’s era of winemaking. The first time they made it was 2015. 36 hours on the skins, 18 months on the lees in old 2200L Slavonian oak (interior/Continental Croatian oak), and bottled unfiltered. Even after full malolactic fermentation, Pošip still holds onto its acidity. The salt isn’t lost in the lees either. It drinks pretty opulent at the moment, but in the way a well executed rich meal doesn’t leave you feeling lethargic, but rather simply satisfied. We are only 4 vintages in, but we opened up a 2016 recently and age suits it extremely well. Roughly 3000 bottles were produced.
